Aleks Moody
Aleks Moody is a Keyboard player based in South London. Playing professionally since 2018, his influences include Stevie Wonder, Booker T Jones, Larry Dunn and Chester Thompson. Aleks is in high demand on the South London music circuit. Along with gigging and recording, his other side projects include expanding and maintaining his collection of vintage synthesisers, hammond organs and electric pianos.
Stuey Lisbie
Stuey started singing at the age of five, listening to the Jackson 5 and his fathers jazz albums. Influenced by the Brixton sound system culture in his teens, Stuey first took to the stage with Smiley Culture at the tender age of eighteen. Having recorded with Drum & Bass, Reggae and Soul artists, Stuey recorded his first solo album in 2014 that led to appearing on national TV in Brazil. Always in demand, Stuey brings his unique vocal style to Soul Classic and Funky Grooves with The New Jazzmags in 2019
Alex Myers
Self taught Guitarist Alex Myers has over ten years experience in the music industry, working with numerous bands and artists spanning a wide range of genres, from acoustic, folk, jazz and blues to rock, R&B and hip hop. Alex is at home on stage or in the studio, engineering, producing and performing whilst running house label, Toki Kat Records.
Yohann Saide
Yohan comes from a musical family and was trained as a classical violinist. A true multi instrumentalist, Yo, in addition to his virtuosity on the violin is also a sought after drummer. Having worked with Flight 16, The Come On People, The Brothers Of Mothershovel and many others, Yo’s musical experience is extensive, encompassing theatre, live band and recording studio work. A powerhouse of a drummer with sensitivity and dynamics, we are proud to have Yohan back with NJM.
Rowan Barrett
Rowan has been playing bass for fifteen years in and around London. He studied music performance at the Academy of Contemporary Music for four years. Rowan has been taking part in projects and specialising in jazz, rock, hip hop and soul. He has had much live and studio experience and has performed at such venues as the O2, The Barfly, The Borderline and Glastonbury Festival.
Steve Elliott
Steve is an experienced, classically trained, jazz influenced, London based saxophonist. Beginning in the 1970’s, he has gigged, toured and recorded with many bands including the London Youth Jazz Orchestra (70’s), Pipedream (80’s), The Rex Hipple Band (90’s), The Metros, Delta Detour and 2bears (2000’s). Steve currently works with The Tony Patience Band, The Mayans, InFusion, and Artshark King and leads The New Jazzmags.
